On Wednesday November 13, in the first part of the show, host Gene Wilhelm talked about his “saint of the week”, Mother Frances Cabrini, who became the first American citizen to be canonized. In the second part of the show, guest Dr. Michael Foley, Associate Professor of Patristics (the study of the Church Fathers), at Baylor University, and author of many Catholic books, including the popular bar book, Drinking with the Saints, that is also a great resource for observing the liturgical year. Dr. Foley talked about his love of patristics (especially St. Augustine), why the intellectual heritage of the Church can save the world, and his love of teaching at Baylor University as a Catholic intellectual.
