In the second segment, David and Jaclyn Warren joined to talk about their book Brilliant Dr. Chris Baglow sums up the book well with this quote from the forward: “[These] stories show us that intelligence and faith, science and holiness, do go together. In fact, they are made for each other.” David did the writing for the book and his wife, Jaclyn, illustrated it. What sparked their motivation to write the book was learning that some students of David’s as well as a young family member thought that one couldn’t both believe in God and create scientific knowledge. From that, they were inspired to write a book aimed at children that demonstrated one can be a faithful Catholic and a legitimate scientist. The book showcases faithful Catholics throughout the years who were also scientists, mathematicians, and just extremely smart people. They married their faith to the sciences. You can check out the book here. Listen to the episode for a great conversation and remember, when considering the many ways in which you might share your time, talents, and treasure with the people of God, always round up!
