144 Jim Olson: To Catch a Spy: The Art of Counterintelligence

On Wednesday November 20, Pam Marvin talked with Jim Olson about his new book, To Catch a Spy: The Art of Counterintelligence. Mr. Olson served for over thirty years in the Directorate of Operations of the Central Intelligence Agency and is now a Professor of the Practice at the Bush School, where he teaches courses on intelligence and counterintelligence. He has a passion for counterintelligence, which is stopping foreign countries from stealing technology from the United States. One of the reasons he wrote the book, To Catch a Spy, is because he believes Americans aren’t truly aware of how badly we are being attacked by foreign intelligence services. He thinks Americans need to be informed about what’s going on so that we can work to form a solution, and he hopes that the book is a start to informing people about this issue of foreign intelligence. 138 Steve Weidenkopf: The Battle of Lepanto

On Wednesday October 9, host Gene Wilhelm spoke with Steve Weidenkopf, Lecturer in Church History at the Christendom College Graduate School of Theology in Alexandria, Virginia,  about the battle of Lepanto and his book, The Glory of the Crusades. The battle of Lepanto was a naval engagement that took place on October 7, 1571 when a fleet of the Holy League arranged by Pope Pius V, defeated the fleet of the Ottoman Empire in the Gulf of Patras. The battle of Lepanto is responsible for giving us the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary, originally called the Feast of Our Lady of Victory for the victory at Lepanto.
