On May 23, 2018, host Judy Comeaux interviewed local Catholic musician Kyle Sinkule. Kyle is originally from West, TX and is currently located in Waco, where he is an avid listener of RED-C Catholic Radio, KYAR 98.3 FM. During the show, he talked about how he began writing music in high school and how he later led worship teams at his home parish in West. His songwriting and performing drew him into the orbit of Protestant musicians. This began an interest in Protestant worship styles that led him to be a musical director at a Baptist church in Waco and period of deep questioning about the liturgical forms of the Catholic Church and its evanglelistic posture. Hear Kyle explain how getting these questions answered (in part through Catholic radio) led him back to an invigorated practice of his Catholic Faith. A common topic that was discussed was the effectiveness of praise and worship as a way to pray and to evangelize no matter how old a person is. On May 16, 2018, host Pam Marvin spoke again with a member of the Apostles of the Interior Life, Sr. Raffaella Cavallin, who is in residence at St. Mary's Catholic Center in College Station. Pam and Sr. Raffaella considered the role of the virtue of justice in improving our prayer lives. The cardinal virtues--justice, temperance, fortitude, and prudence--are human virtues that can be developed by any person and actually are fundamental to the human being's ability to benefit from God's grace and from the sacraments. Leading a life of justice means, in part, giving to each person their due. Even more so, it means giving right praise and worship to God. Cultivating justice in our ordinary existence, to give just one example, should lead us to eschew any behavior that manipulates others or treats them as instruments for our own self-aggrandizement. Joining him in the studio was David Jordan, who is coordinating activities for men in Bryan-College Station in collaboration with the Central Texas Fellowship of Catholic Men (CTFCM). On the phone were the current CTFCM director, Mike Kelly, and the new incoming director, Dennis Daniels. Conversation touched on the spiritual and moral needs of today's Catholic men, how to reach men of different ages and stations in life, the role and work of the CTFCM, and the upcoming activities available to men in the diocese.
